Tessa Jowell and sleazy government

I would really like to ignore the whole Tessa Jowell thing. You know it's so what if her husband is involved in Italian Tax Avoidance and unusual "gifts"(no judgement yet, so it's only alledged), what does it have ot do with Tessa.

Well, what actually stinks for me is the idea that her defence against allegations that she breached the ministerial code is that she signed stuff without reading it and that it was her husbands business dealings and not her own. Bollocks, she is either complicit, after all who mortgages, pays it off and mortgages again in such a short period without talking about it, OR she is deliberately burying their head in the sand so as to be "technically" in the clear.

My view is that it is the latter. I can't be guilty becuase I didn't know anything about it. David Blunkett tried this with the idea that his civil servants did things without his knowledge, but in reality the civil servants did things because they knew what D. Blunkett wanted.

And the really unpleasant thing is that they have such little regard for the general public that they think they can use this defence with impunity. Remember these people are our public servants, not our masters. Unfortunately they don't seem to pay this any mind.
