Shocking, if only it was emails

In a shocking inditement of the folly of sending massive amounts of Junk Mail it transpires that:

US banks send out 1,937 pieces of marketing information for every new sign-up

According to Avivah Litan of the Gartner Group.

Now, even if these bits of junk only cost 10 cents that's a massive $193 that a bank has to recoup. No wonder bank charges are so high, and the service is so crap. They are creaming moeny from you and me to pay for new customers.

Of course, if they replaced all the paper with emails, then they would save money, have more accountability and stop destroying the planet.

Anyway, don't, don't, don't, start me off on Banks!
